Nail Art time!!! Dots are fun!

Happy Super bowl Sunday everyone!! I wanted to do a super fast how to on my nails i did this week. It really takes no time at all to do some fun nail art when you get the hang of it and it makes manicures so much more fun!

What you will need:

* the nail polish you will want to use, base color and 3 dot colors
*base and top coat
*a paper plate
*tooth picks( i like the ones that are flat on one end)
*dotting tool(sold a sally beauty supply for $5.49)

To get started, paint your nails with any base you want to use and let dry. I take my 3 colors i want to use for my dots, in this case i am using white, black and coral and I put big dots of the nail color on the paper plates so you can just dip your tooth picks and dotting tools in it. You can dip your dotting tool and toothpicks multiple times to make your dots different sizes, the more nail Polish you get on the dotting tool and toothpicks the bigger your dots.

Step 1: Take one of your colors and start making big dots randomly in a "c" shape
Step 2: take the next color you want to use and try and make them slightly smaller then the first ones
Step 3: Take the last color and keep making the dots smaller than the last.
Step 4. Let the dots slightly dry and then put the top coat on..if you do it when they are still wet they will smear.

TA DA!

Backcombing like a PRO!

Howdy!! So I wanted to do my best to show step by step how I like to backcomb my hair and my clients hair. Its hard to explain and a lot of my clients want to recreate this look on their own so I hope my little guide will help. For those of you who are already a pro and remember teasing your bangs in the 80s with some aqua net let this just be a reminder of your youth! ;-)

What you need:

1. Any Firm hold hair spray of your liking

2. Rat tail comb or teasing comb

3. A brush

Step 1. Take a section of hair about 1/2 inch thick at the top of the head (you can start wherever you like)
Step 2. Hairspray roots and take comb and comb in a downword motion starting from midshaf to the root. Repeat that a couple of times.
Step 3. Continue taking sections and backcombing till you get half way back or until you prefer.
Step 4. Take a section on each side of the head and repeat the backcombing for both sides of the head.

Now it's time to smooth down, you are going to take your brush and LIGHTLY brush the top layer of the backcombing down. It's very important not to completely brush out that under layer of backcombing, as you want the volume to last. Finish with hairspray.

I also LOVE doing this look with a braided bang or pinning your bangs back.

Thanks to my beautiful model Angie!

Have a great day!

Requested!! Maybelline eyestudio eyeshadow: How to!

Hey everyone! I have been getting lots of requests to do more make up tutorials so here we go!
I am going to show you how to get this look:

What I used-
As my eyeshadow base I used Maybelline 24 hour cream shadow in bad to the bronze. THIS MAKES THE BEST EYESHADOW BASE EVER! It will not move or crease and lasts literally 24 hours! I put it all over my lid and all around the lower lash line and around the tear duct.

* Maybelline master drama eye liner in midnight master (great eyeliner lasts all day in the water line)

* Maybelline eyestudio quad in taupe temptress

* Loreal voluminous false fiber lashes mascara

* Elf cosmetic brushes

I have labeled the palette in 4 steps to make it easier! lightest to darkest.

Step1. Take the lightest color in the pallette and put on around your tear duct and and a little bit under your eyebrows on your brow bone.
Step 2. Take the 2nd color and pat color just on the inner part of your eyelid- make sure you dont cover up your tear duct color.
Step 3. Take the 3rd color and put on your outter corner of your lid
step 4. Take the darkest color with a crease brush and work into the crease using a "windshield wiper motion"

After you put your crease shade on you need to take any big fluffy brush to blend all the lines out, i just go right above the crease and below the eyebrow and using the same windshield motion i blend it out. Before and After above.

The last thing you are going to do is take an angled brush to line the under of the eye in the same color pattern as you did the eyelid- lightest to darkest starting at the tear duct. The apply eyeliner and mascara and you are done!

Thanks so much for reading! Have a great day!!!

The perfect glow all year long!

Hello friends! SO our beautiful summer tans are almost gone as winter is just around the corner. And if you are like me and REFUSE to embrace the paleness then this post is for you! ;-) I just wanted to share 2 products I love for self tanning that work amazing. No streaking, applies effortlessly and most of all NO ORANGE color!!!!!!!!

Fake Bake's Flawless self tanner:

This stuff is the best of the best that I have ever tried for a few reasons. First off, it applies SO easily and I never have a streaking problem. I dries super fast and smells good. It comes with a blending mitt which helps you control where you put the product. Ex: no product on the palms of your hands. How I apply it: Use the brown velvety side not the white side. I put on the gloves and then the mitt and spray the product directly on my skin and rub in until its dry. I use like 4 sprays on my upper arm, 3 sprays on my forearm and like 4 sprays on my chest. Do each section on its own. TIP for your hands and feet: this is the only sections i spray product directly on the mitt. Spray 1 spray on the mitt and lightly run mitt over back of your hand and lightly over your fingers, keep blending till product is dry. I do this once a week and I always do it before I go to bed so I can shower it off in the morning. This product has a dark tan guide so when you are applying it you can see if you missed a spot- sometimes I notice this rubbing off on my sheets but does not stain and easily washes off.

Maintaining

Hemp Bronzing moisturizer is a light moisturizer that really helps maintain a real tan or a self tan. I like it better than jergans or any other gradual glow moisturizer. You can get it at sally beauty supply. I use it every day right out of the shower light a normal lotion.

The newest skin care/make up trend: B.B. cream!!!!!

Hello ALL! J Sorry it has been so long since my last update!
So I just felt like the new fad in BB creams deserved its own update! Now some of you have probably seen the sudden trend with BB creams being sold at drug stores and sephoras – they are just about everywhere right now! Or maybe you are just now hearing about it. Either way I am here to give you the low down!
What is a BB cream?!?! Well it’s a super amped up tinted moisturizer! It’s a hybrid formula that tackles multiple skin care concerns in one product.  Here are some of the many benefits of a BB cream:
·         Skin perfector
·         Most all have an SPF
·         Helps with blotchiness and discoloration in the skin
·         Minimizes pores
·         Evens skin tone
·         Hydrates
·         Enhances and Brightens
·         Some are dermatologist tested and recommended
·         Tinted for light coverage
·         Anti-aging

MOST makeup and skincare lines are coming out with a BB cream, I have tried a ton and have been actively using them for the last 3 months and I have tried some of the most expensive to the cheapest of cheap …the ones I have tried are:
*Smash Box Camara ready BB cream SPF 35 $39.99 at Sephora
*Boscia BB cream SPF 27 $38.99 at Sephora
*Garnier skin renew miracle skin perfector BB cream SPF 15 $11.99 at Target
*Maybelline BB cream SPF 30 $8.49 at Target

The one I would recommend: Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream!

It comes in 2 shades and both can blend to any skin tone. You cant beat the price, the smell is nice and I have seen the best results with it. I love using it under my makeup or when I don’t feel like putting any make up on at all. Its great! I have more than half of it left and have had it for 3 months so it goes a really long way! My ONLY complaint about this product is the SPF is only a 15 and I would love Garnier come out with a SPF 30. Some reviewers felt it was too greasy which I never have a problem and I have semi- oily skin. Now if you have extremely oily skin I would recommend going with the Maybelline BB cream as its completely oil free.

Thanks for stopping by!
