Nail Art time!!! Dots are fun!

Happy Super bowl Sunday everyone!! I wanted to do a super fast how to on my nails i did this week. It really takes no time at all to do some fun nail art when you get the hang of it and it makes manicures so much more fun!

What you will need:

* the nail polish you will want to use, base color and 3 dot colors
*base and top coat
*a paper plate
*tooth picks( i like the ones that are flat on one end)
*dotting tool(sold a sally beauty supply for $5.49)

To get started, paint your nails with any base you want to use and let dry. I take my 3 colors i want to use for my dots, in this case i am using white, black and coral and I put big dots of the nail color on the paper plates so you can just dip your tooth picks and dotting tools in it. You can dip your dotting tool and toothpicks multiple times to make your dots different sizes, the more nail Polish you get on the dotting tool and toothpicks the bigger your dots.

Step 1: Take one of your colors and start making big dots randomly in a "c" shape
Step 2: take the next color you want to use and try and make them slightly smaller then the first ones
Step 3: Take the last color and keep making the dots smaller than the last.
Step 4. Let the dots slightly dry and then put the top coat on..if you do it when they are still wet they will smear.

Backcombing like a PRO!

Howdy!! So I wanted to do my best to show step by step how I like to backcomb my hair and my clients hair. Its hard to explain and a lot of my clients want to recreate this look on their own so I hope my little guide will help. For those of you who are already a pro and remember teasing your bangs in the 80s with some aqua net let this just be a reminder of your youth! ;-)

What you need:

1. Any Firm hold hair spray of your liking

2. Rat tail comb or teasing comb

3. A brush

Step 1. Take a section of hair about 1/2 inch thick at the top of the head (you can start wherever you like)
Step 2. Hairspray roots and take comb and comb in a downword motion starting from midshaf to the root. Repeat that a couple of times.
Step 3. Continue taking sections and backcombing till you get half way back or until you prefer.
Step 4. Take a section on each side of the head and repeat the backcombing for both sides of the head.

Now it's time to smooth down, you are going to take your brush and LIGHTLY brush the top layer of the backcombing down. It's very important not to completely brush out that under layer of backcombing, as you want the volume to last. Finish with hairspray.

I also LOVE doing this look with a braided bang or pinning your bangs back.

Thanks to my beautiful model Angie!

Have a great day!
